Minimum gross wage goes up to 1,050 lei per month from July 1

The minimum gross wage in Romania is going up to 1,050 lei per month starting Wednesday for a full working schedule of 168.667 hours a month on average in 2015, according to the Governmental Decision No. 1091/2014.
For the public sector workers, the basic wage according to the pay set on employment cannot be lower than the minimum gross wage guaranteed to be paid nationwide.
Labour Minister Rovana Plumb announced on Tuesday that almost 1,4 million employees will benefit from the minimum wage rise – 488,000 in the public sector and 900,000 in the competitive environment.
