“The Treasure” by Corneliu Porumboiu, „One Floor Lower” by Radu Muntean and “Aferim” by Radu Jude are among the films to be screened in parallel sections of the 50th edition of the Karlovy Vary Film Festival (July 3 – 11), the official website of the event announces.
“Aferim!”, the film that brought Radu Jude the Silver Bear for Best Director at Berlinale 2015, was included in the “Horizons” Section of the Karlovy Vary Film Festival.
The same section will include Radu Muntean’s film “One Floor Lower”, that had its world premiere at the Cannes International Film Festival, in the “Un Certain Regard” section.
“The Treasure” by Corneliu Porumboiu – the winner of the “Un Certain Talent” special prize at Cannes 2015, will be included in the “Another View” section of the festival, scheduled during July 3 – 11.
The Romanian short films were also included in the selection of the prestigious festival held in the Czech Republic: “The Flavour Collection” by Igor Cobileanski will be screened in the “Prague Short Film Festival Presents” section.
The official competition of the Karlovy Vary Film Festival includes two Romanian productions: “The Magic Mountain” by Anca Damian and “Box” by Florin Serban.
Also, the long film debut by Nicolae Constantin Tanase, “The World Is Mine” will be presented in the competition of a parallel section of the festival, “East of the West”.
The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is one of the most important events of the genre in Europe.
