Romanian maritime port freight throughput up 45% last month

*Compared to H1 2014, freight throughput was up 23% this year

 

According to a release of the National Company for the Management of  Constanta Maritime Ports, Romanian maritime port freight throughput went up 45% in June.

The preliminary data of the Company shows a total freight throughput of 4.8 M tons in June 2015, compared to 3.3 M tons in June 2014, the estimated growth being by 45%. This month, maritime throughput reached 3.5 M tons and inland river throughput 1.2 M tons.

In June last year, the maritime throughput of goods was 2.6 M tons and inland river throughput was 0.7 M tons.

The total freight throughput estimated for Q1 2015 for Romanian maritime ports Constanta, Midia and Mangalia is approximately 28 M tons, higher by some 23% than in the period of reference of 2014, when 22.7 M tons were recorded.
