*Year-on-year sales up 33 pc in June and 11.5 pc in Q1
The drop in Dacia sales recently registered on the German and French markets has been counterbalanced by an expanding market. Thus, according to Reuters, new car sales in the United Kingdom have registered their 40th consecutive month of growth in June – a record period of growth – due to economic recovery and cheap credits, UK’s Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) announced on Monday.
Last month Dacia was among the top-selling brands alongside brands such as Ford Fiesta, Vauxhall Corsa, Ford Focus, Volkswagen Golf and Nissan Qashqai.
In June, Dacia sold 2,568 units on the UK market, up by 32.99 per cent compared to the same period last year back when it sold 1,931 units. In January-June, Dacia sold 14,463 units on the UK market, up by 11.46 per cent compared to the same period last year back when it sold 12,976 units.
United Kingdom remains the second-largest auto market in the European Union, behind Germany but ahead of France, Italy and Spain.
