For the official selection of the 25th edition of the National Theatre Festival, due to be held during October 23 – November 1, 2015, in Bucharest, 44 performances were selected, Agerpres announced. The selection was made by critic Marina Constantinescu, the artistic manager and selectioner of the National Theatre Festival, and was announced on Monday, on the website of the event, www.fnt.ro.
Among the selected performances, there are productions nominated and awarded both at UNITER Gala and at important festivals in the country: “Furniture and pain” by Teodor Mazilu, directed by Victor Ioan Frunza, a production of the UNESCO Cultural Centre “Nicolae Balcescu” in Bucharest; “N(AUM”, after Gellu Naum, directed by Mariana Camarasan, a project of the UNTEATRU Theatre, included in the repertoire of Metropolis Theatre, with the support of “Gellu Naum” Foundation; “The Good Person of Szechwan”, by Bertolt Brecht, directed by Andrei Serban, a production of “Lucia Sturdza Bulandra” Theatre.
This year, as well, FNT brings to Bucharest creations by important directors from various generations, including veterans such as Andrei Serban, Silviu Purcarete, Victor Ioan Frunza, Mihai Maniutiu, Tompa Gabor, Alexandru Dabija, Alexandru Darie, the mature directors Felix Alexa, Laszlo Bocsardi, Radu Afrim, Claudiu Goga, Cristi Juncu, and young graduates Vlad Cristache and Tudor Lucanu.
