Heat wave, thermal discomfort to engulf most of Romania

The National Weather Administration (ANM) has extended the code yellow heat wave and thermal discomfort advisories to include 32 of Romania’s 41 counties located in the south-western, eastern and central parts of the country, where highs are expected today to reach 35-37 degrees Celsius frequently.

Meteorologists say weather on July 24 will be hot in most parts of Romania and sizzling hot in the plain and plateau areas, with the temperature-humidity index expected to exceed the critical level of 80.

The heat wave should be pertinacious in the following days, with weather instability temporarily increased in the north-western, northern and alpine parts of Romania.

ANM says it will update its advisories to adjust them for the latest weather developments.
