Vodafone Romania portfolio exceeds 8.8m customers on June 30, 2015

The number of Vodafone Romania subscribers reached 8,801,590 on June 30, 2015, up by 233,838 customers from the same period a year earlier, according to the company’s financial results for Q1 of fiscal year 2015-2016, released on Friday to Agerpes.

Of the total number of customers, as many as 8,189,970 were mobile service users, while the company’s service revenues in the quarter ended on June 30 amounted to 166.8 million euros, up by 5.7pct over the same period of last year, in organic terms.

At mid-year, Vodafone service subscribers represented 41.4pct of the customer base and Vodafone Card users – 58.6pct. At the same time, prepaid service users rose by 0.4 percentage points compared to the H1 2014.

According to the cited source, mobile data consumption saw an 128.7pct advance in the quarter ended on June 30, 2015, compared to the same period of 2014. Moreover, the penetration rate of smartphones into the customer base rose by 6 points percentage.

Vodafone Romania is a subsidiary of Vodafone Group Plc., one of the world’s largest mobile telecommunications groups, providing a wide range of services including voice, text messaging, data and fixed-line communications.

At the group’s level, Vodafone has subsidiaries in 26 countries, 55 partner networks worldwide and fixed-line broadband operations in 17 countries.

On June 30, 2015, Vodafone had 449 million mobile service users and 12 million fixed-line broadband service customers.
