Moments from the life of national hero Simon Bolivar

On the occasion of celebrating 232 years since the birth of Venezuela’s National Hero Simon Bolivar, the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in collaboration with the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant, invites you to the inauguration of the exhibition “Moments from the life of national hero Simon Bolivar”, followed by the screening of the film “Bolivar, Man of Hardships (2013).

Simon Jose Antonio de la Santisima Trinidad Bolivar Palacios Ponte y Blanco, known as Simon Bolivar, was born in Caracas, Venezuela, on July 24, 1783 and passed away in Santa Marta, Columbia, on December 17, 1830. Bolivar was a political personality, a military officer, a strategist, a statesperson and the liberator of six Latin-American republics. In the year 1913, he was granted the honorary title of Liberator. Due to the hardships he had to face in order to gain American emancipation, he called himself “the man of hardships”.

The exhibition presents a few moments from the life of the Eliberator in 23 images, reproductions of works of art created by famous Venezuelan painters of the nineteenth century.
