PNL collects one million signatures in favour of Premier’s dismissal

National Liberal Party (PNL) has managed to collect 1 million signatures in favour of Premier Victor Ponta’s dismissal, PNL Co-Presidents Alina Gorghiu and Vasile Blaga announced. The Liberals have thus attained the target of their “Sign Ponta’s Resignation” campaign.

Alina Gorghiu announced on June 22 that PNL initiated a popular motion for the dismissal of Premier Victor Ponta. The PNL Co-President admitted that the list of signatures will have no juridical effect, however the Liberals are asking for the citizens’ support “in order to dismiss a Premier that refuses to resort to an elementary gesture, a common-sense gesture and a gesture of dignity, namely that of resigning.”

The lists of signatures will be presented by the PNL leadership during its Permanent National Bureau meeting on August 3. Likewise, PNL leaders have pointed out that they will continue to demand the Premier’s resignation every day because he is not good for Romania just like he was not good for PSD either.
