Iohannis tells SRI-25 Years graduates they have duty to provide intelligence for country’s prosperity, security

President Klaus Iohannis attended on Thursday the graduation festivity of the bachelors’ of the class dubbed SRI (the Romanian Intelligence Service) – 25 Years, where he told the graduates that they have the duty as professionals to provide the leaders and strategic factors such intelligence that should contribute to the prosperity of Romania and ensure the country’s security, the Presidential Administration said according to Agerpres.

Iohannis underscored that Mihai Viteazul National Intelligence Academy has, over time, won and consolidated itself an important status in the Romanian military higher education, playing a decisive role in the national security architecture, the release added.

“The head of state told the graduates they have, as professionals in intelligence, the duty to provide knowledge to the leaders and strategic factors that will guide Romania towards prosperity and security, in an increasingly complicated climate”, the President’s Office said.

The Romanian leader reiterated the importance of the investment in education, that must represent “an absolute priority of all the elites to govern in the coming decades”.

“The human resource that the Academy graduates make up is the most important edge that Romania has available in order to enhance the predictability degree of the risks and threats and to improve the capacity to manage, prevent and combat them”, the release quotes the president as saying.
