Romanian officials hail the inauguration of Moldova’s new Gov’t

Romania’s President Klaus Iohannis has hailed the inauguration of Moldova’s new Government, wishing good luck to the Government headed by Valeriu Strelet (photo) .

“I am hailing the inauguration of the Republic of Moldova’s new Government, a government with a clear pro-European orientation. I know the tasks awaiting the Moldovan Government are not easy, but I want our partners to be convinced that they will have in Romania the most important support to overcome economic difficulties and continue the European journey. Good luck to the Valeriu Strelet Cabinet!” Iohannis wrote in a Facebook post in Romanian on Thursday .

Premier-designate Valeriu Strelet and his government on Thursday received the vote of approval of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Chisinau media inform. The Strelet Government mustered the vote of all the deputies of the new coalition (the Alliance for European Integration-3) made up of the Liberal Democratic Party, the Democratic Party and the Liberal Party

 

Foreign Minister Aurescu: Romania will support the European path of the Republic of Moldova

 

The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the formation of the new Government of the Republic of Moldova and emphasizes that the new ruling line-up is proof of the pro-European political forces’ responsibility in the face of the challenges confronting the neighboring state.

Romanian chief diplomat Bogdan Aurescu said that Romania will support the European path of the Republic of Moldova and wishes good luck to the Executive in Chisinau.

“Romania firmly and unconditionally further supports the European path of the Republic of Moldova, as well as its plenary and irreversible connection to the European family. I wish the colleagues in Chsinau good luck along this road,” Bogdan Aurescu said, cited in a Foreign Ministry release to Agerpres..

The Foreign Ministry also expresses confidence that the new Government will carry on with the implementation of the Association Agreement with the European Union, the deepening of democratic reforms and strengthening macroeconomic stability.

”The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the installation of the new pro-European Government of the Republic of Moldova, based on a comprehensive activity program in line with the citizens’ expectations, which includes as a priority goal the Republic of Moldova’s European integration. The Foreign Ministry expresses confidence that the new Government will continue, in a committed manner, the comprehensive enforcement of the Association Agreement with the European Union, deepening democratic reforms and strengthening macroeconomic stability. The people’s pro-European vote of November 30, 2014 which was recently reconfirmed at the June 2015 local elections has given a clear mandate for the continuation of the European project and the overall modernization of the state and institutions. These priorities need to be reflected in the concrete, everyday efforts of the Government in Chisinau,” reads the Foreign Ministry’s release.
