Prime Minister Victor Ponta says preliminary data with the National Tax Administration Agency (ANAF) indicates collected Value-Added Tax (VAT) revenue from domestic operations for June 2015 was standing at RON 5.067 billion, and that despite the predictions of specialists the collected revenue is RON 60 million over the June 2014 figures.
“Very important last minute figures – I have received preliminary data about domestic VAT collected revenue for June 2015 – RON 5.067 billion! This is the first month when the VAT for food and food services plummeted from 24 to 9 per cent. Although various ‘specialists’ were predicting an important negative impact on the budget, the collected revenue is by RON 60 million higher than in the same month of 2014! (RON 5 billion). The social security contribution revenue for the first six months of 2015 (cut by 5 per cent as from October 1, 201) is higher than the same revenue in the first six months of 2014!” Ponta said in a Facebook post.
He concluded by saying “based on actual data instead of made-up opinions: with smaller taxes and a more efficient ANAF we have competitive economic growth, jobs and smaller prices! I am convinced Parliament will back up these objectives at its extraordinary session this August!”
