Bunea Stancu arraigned for malfeasance in office and conflict of interest

National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) prosecutors arraigned Gheorghe Bunea Stancu on Thursday for malfeasance in office and conflict of interest. Bunea Stancu was Braila County Council Chairman at the time the crimes were allegedly committed.

Bunea Stancu is currently in detention, having been placed there in another case.

According to a National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) communiqué, Alina Daniela Rusu, Braila County Council’s economic director at the time the crimes were allegedly committed, was also arraigned for malfeasance in office.

Gheorghe Bunea Stancu was sentenced to jail on April 2, for corruption, in a case handled by DNA prosecutors, Agerpres informs. The sentence was final.

Likewise, he was previously arraigned for similar crimes, alongside other persons, on 2 October 2014.
