On August 20-23: “Bucharest Loves Handball”. Bucharest Trophy brings together six of the most powerful teams in Europe

The Bucharest Trophy is the most important women’s friendly handball tournament in Eastern Europe. The second edition will bring together 6 of the most powerful teams in Europe, the competition set to take place at Bucharest’s Polivalenta Hall on August 20-23.

Under the motto “Bucharest Loves Handball,” we want to bring to the Romanian public a competition at the highest level and to promote this sport through authentic ambassadors that would inspire the public with the true spirit of handball, a press release remitted by the organizers shows.

BUCHAREST TROPHY 2015 will bring to Bucharest Romania’s top three teams (CSM Bucharest, HCM Baia Mare and Corona Brasov), the winner of the EHF Champions League (ZRK Buducnost), the semifinalist of the EHF Final Four (RK Vardar) and Russia’s title holders (Rostov Don).

CSM Bucharest is the winner of the first Bucharest Trophy edition. CSM defeated Buducnost Podgorica in the final, score 24-21.

The draws have established the two groups and the tournament’s schedule. Thus, Group A consists of Buducnost, Rostov Don and HCM Baia Mare, while Group B consists of CSM Bucharest, ZRK Vardar and ASC Corona 2010 Brasov. The group stage games will be played on August 20-22, while the games that will set the final rankings will be played on August 23.

Tournament Schedule:

August 20: Buducnost vs. Rostov Don (4.30 p.m.) and Vardar vs. Corona (7 p.m.)

August 21: Baia Mare vs. Rostov Don (4.30 p.m.) and CSM Bucharest vs. Corona Brasov (7 p.m.)

August 22: Buducnost vs. Baia Mare (4.30 p.m.) and Vardar vs. CSM Bucharest (7 p.m.)

August 23: games for 5th – 6th places (2 p.m.), 3rd – 4th places (4.30 p.m.), 1st place – 2nd places (7 p.m.)

Access to the tournament is based on tickets for single games and tournament subscriptions.

The prices of tournament subscriptions range from RON 70 to RON 150. Tickets can be bought on www.myticket.ro, www.bilete.ro and from the Diverta chain.
