PSD accuses Alina Gorghiu of plagiarism

Social Democratic Party (PSD)’s District 5 branch members claim National Liberal Party (PNL) Co-President Alina Gorghiu plagiarized their PR strategy and used the campaign slogans of PSD’s candidate for the Bucharest District 5 Mayoralty, Cristian Rizea.

“We took note with surprise that on Tuesday, August 4, around 6 p.m., Ms. Gorghiu remembered that she was sent within Romania’s Parliament by the citizens of District 5 and, bereft of originality as we came to know her, she saw fit to plagiarize the PR strategy of PSD’s District 5 branch, a party branch set up approximately 6 months ago. Thus, on her official Facebook page, Ms. Gorghiu uses with absolutely no shame the campaign slogans of PSD’s candidate for the District 5 Mayoralty. It seems that “common sense,” the syntagm that PNL used a lot of times, is just a simple slogan Ms. Gorghiu uses occasionally in order to mislead her electorate,” a communiqué issued by PSD District 5 and quoted by Agerpres reads.

In order to exemplify their claim, PSD District 5 attached to the communiqué the image of a billboard showing PSD District 5 President Cristian Rizea and the slogans “A new beginning” and “Come join us for real change in District 5.”

On Tuesday, Alina Gorghiu wrote on her Facebook page: “I was voted Lower Chamber MP in a District 5 constituency and I know very well the problems there. It is a district that badly needs a new beginning, a different style of administration: without electoral alms but with vision and good faith,” the aforementioned source points out.
