INS: Manufacturing industry new orders up 2.4 pct in H1 2015

New orders in the manufacturing industry (internal and external market) advanced 2.4 percent in H1 2015 in nominal terms from one year ago, due to growth in the industry of durables (+19.7 pct), intermediate goods (+5.6 pct) and FMCG (0.4 pct), the National Statistics Institute (INS) informed on Friday.

The capital goods industry kept steady at the same level.

This June, new orders in the processing industry overall (internal and external market) climbed 5.9 percent in nominal terms from the previous month and 5.5 percent in a y-o-y comparison. The monthly advance was mainly due to growth recorded in the industry of durables (+18.8pct), FMCG (+11.8pct), intermediate goods (+7.3pct) and capital goods (+3.2pct).

The year-on-year growth was the effect of the increase in the industry of durables (+27.6 pct), intermediate goods (+8.7pct), FMCG (+4.1pct) and capital goods (+2.5pct).

New orders in the processing industry were up 2.4 percent at mid-2015 from one year ago.
