The natural growth rate of Romania’s population continued to be negative in June 2015, that is 3,117 persons less, after the 5,605 decrease in May, according to the data released on Monday by the National Institute of Statistics.
There were 16,630 births in Romania in June, by 1,753 more than in May, and 19,747 deaths, by 735 fewer than in May 2015.
The number of deaths of children aged under one year recorded in June was 131, three more than the 128 in May.
June 2015 saw 9,395 marriages, by 1,492 fewer than in May, whilst the number of divorces pronounced through final court decisions were 2,650, down seven .
The number of live births in June was higher by 541 than in the same month of 2014.
The negative natural growth of 3,117 was close to the 3,327 figure in June 2014.
The number of infant deaths (under one year of age) was down by 11 from the year-ago monthly figure.
There were 1,015 more marriages registered in June 2015, as compared to June 2014, and 89 less divorces.
