France’s Embassy: Mobility, jobs for young – topics of European Meetings of Transylvania

Mobility and jobs for the young will be the main themes to be covered within the 6th edition of the European Meetings of Transylvania, organized in Cluj-Napoca from September 30 to October 2 by the Embassy of France and the French Institute.

According to a press release on the embassy’s site, this year’s topic will be ‘Youth and territories: new forms of commitment in Europe’.

“The axis chosen voluntarily this year envisages the promotion of the existing opportunities for young, as well as for regions, and the highlighting of the positive dynamics of these actors. Without omitting the big stakes of the nowadays youth’s life, matters connected to mobility and jobs will be deepened, stressing on the young’s commitment and the innovative local, national and European initiatives in forging an attractive environment. Besides, a group of young people who came from the twin cities of Cluj-Napoca will arrive in Cluj and work on drafting a manifesto of proposals of the European youth; they will inaugurate a wall of messages downtown, symbolizing ‘the voice of the young’,” the source added, according to Agerpres.

According to the Embassy, the target of these meetings will be to mobilise an important number of persons and actors involved in the territorial policies for jobs, mobility and youth capable to share their experience and initiatives, to debate difficulties they’ve met and the importance of considering the attractiveness of a territory for the young.

“The European Meetings of Transylvania, organized in order to favor synergies at European and territorial scale and to raise awareness of the public authorities upon the territories’ stakes, have become an annual event for several actors involved in the local development. The County Council has always been an essential partner in the organisation of this event which (…) is part of the official programme of the ‘Cluj-Napoca, European Youth Capital’ project, the Embassy’s release adds.
