INS: Volume of construction works, up over 10pct on average in H1

The volume of construction works increased in H1 both as gross series as well as series adjusted to the number of working days and seasonality, by 10.3pct, and 10.9pct respectively, compared to the same period in 2014, according to the data released on Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

The June 2015 volume of construction works rose year on year both as gross series as well as series adjusted to the number of working days and seasonality, by 13.0pct and 13.5pct respectively. Compared to the previous month, the gross series rise stood at 21.9pct gross, and at 3.5pct as series adjusted to the number of working days and seasonality.

According to the INS, at half-year level, the volume of construction works went up overall by 10.3pct as gross series.

As series adjusted to the number of working days and seasonality, the volume of construction works increased by 10.9pct overall.

In June 2015 compared with May 2015, the volume of construction works rose as gross series by 21.9pct, as the new construction works advanced by 24.9pct, current repairs and maintenance work by 23.8pct and overhaul works by 4.9pct.

As series adjusted to the number of working days and seasonality, an overall increase of 3.5pct was recorded.
