PM Ponta thanks UEFA President Michel Platini for support with organising Euro 2020 matches

Prime Minister Victor Ponta thanked UEFA President Michel Platini for the support granted to Romania with the organization of the matches of the 2020 European Football Championships.

“In Tbilisi I had the chance to thank UEFA President Michel Platini for the support granted to Romania with the organisation of the matches of the 2020 European Championships! It will be a huge promotion opportunity for Bucharest!,” Ponta wrote on Facebook on Wednesday, attaching to the post a photo of himself seated at a table next to Platini.

The Prime Minister attended in Tbilisi, Georgia, on Tuesday evening the UEFA Super Cup, a match that opposed FC Barcelona and FC Sevilla, and ended with the victory of the Catalan team, 5-4, after an overtime goal scored by Barcelona.

Victor Ponta was invited to the match, alongside Estonia’s Prime Minister Taavi Roivas, by his Georgian counterpart Irakli Garibashvili.
