PNL’s Gorghiu: Parliament can adopt voting by correspondence law in extraordinary session

Parliament has the opportunity to adopt the law on voting by correspondence in its extraordinary session, Alina Gorghiu, National Liberal Party (PNL) co-chairperson stated, adding that she hopes the Social Democratic Party (PSD) will give up on its hostility towards this draft law.

“Parliament has the opportunity to finally do justice to our citizens living abroad, if the parties agrees on the adoption of the law on voting by correspondence in the extraordinary parliamentary session. I hope that the new PSD leadership will give up on the hostility it has shown this far towards Romanian communities living abroad, hostility which was based mainly on the frustration of the losing candidate in the presidential elections, Victor Ponta,” Gorghiu stated via her Facebook page.

The PNL co-chair stressed that “the refusal to adopt this law, so that it can be enforced in the 2016 elections, would equal an unpardonable defiance to millions of Romanians and a proof that the PSD assumes the political legacy of Victor Ponta.”
