Romanian, Moldovan PMs discuss on phone bilateral agenda’s priorities

Prime Minister Victor Ponta and his Moldovan counterpart Valeriu Strelet discussed over the phone on Thursday the priorities on the bilateral agenda, the Romanian Government informs in a release to Agerpres.

“Prime Minister Victor Ponta wished success to the new government of the neighbour country and expressed confidence that the Republic of Moldova will continue its path towards achieving all its European objectives. The two premiers have assessed priorities on the bilateral agenda, in particular those referring to the energy infrastructure and transports. In the energy field, the interconnection projects planned and agreed upon through the Memorandum signed this year will be continued and in this respect it was set out that in the next period new contacts will be completed at relevant companies’ level,” the source specifies.

According to the Romanian Government, the objectives and projects discussed on Thursday should “progress until the new intergovernmental Committee for European Integration resumes works place, this fall.”

The two prime ministers also decided to meet in Chisinau in a working meeting, by end-August, to further dialogue on priority topics of bilateral collaboration.
