Alro aluminium maker based in Slatina posted 113 million lei in net adjusted profit by this mid-year, after having sustained net adjusted losses worth 80 million lei in Jan.-June 2014, the company announced on Friday.
“We recorded positive results in the first six months of 2015, after three consecutive years of losses”, Alro Administration Board Chairman Marian Nastase said, according to Agerpres.
The company’s sales totalled 1.2 billion lei, up 24 percent from 966 million lei in the first six months of last year.
At a group level, the net adjusted profit stood at 136 million lei as against net adjusted loss of 89 million lei in the last H1. The group’s sales totalled 1.28 billion lei, on the rise by over 25 percent from 1.02 billion lei by the last mid-year.
Alro Slatina announced it would continue its investment programme benefiting from 59 million dollars budget assigned in 2015 to enhance the recycling capacity, extend the product portfolio and upgrade the electrolysis sector.
Alro invested around 100 million dollars in energy-efficiency projects during 2002-2014, the release said.
