Romania’s national handball team came out victorious in its Thursday match, the first at the 2015 Women’s European Championship 17 in Skopje, Macedonia, with a win over Spain, 29-20 (10-8).
The B-Group match saw no less than nine Romanian players score – Popescu (7), Petrus (5), Tarca (4), Dinut (3), Banciu (2), Bucur (2), Tecar (2), Verde (2), Cretu (1) and Serban (1).
Also in Group B, Russia defeated Germany, 26-20.
The Romanian squad is due to face Germany on Friday and Russia on Saturday, Agerpres informs.
