Cinema lovers of Sibiu have the opportunity to watch six independent films over August 18-23, in the Small Square of the city’s historic centre, within the Metropolis Caravan – Outdoor cinema, according to a release to Agerpres..
“Between August 18-23, Tuesday through Sunday, starting at 21:30, six independent films will be screened, using the most performing outdoor projection equipment existing in Romania, an inflatable screen of 120 sq. m. and the only mobile digital projector nationwide, of 17,000 lumens, which allow a high quality resolution, as featured in the world’s big cinema theaters. The entrance is free,” the organisers say.
Metropolis Caravan – Outdoor cinema is the largest outdoor cinema of Romania, boasting more than 200,000 spectators over the three editions. This project registered a number of 25,000 viewers in Arad, Timisoara and Brasov this year.
The Metropolis Cultural Association, established by producer Daniel Mitulescu, focuses on conducting non-profit events for educating the young public, such as the KINOdiseea International Children Film Festival, which recorded over 55,000 participants in the six editions so far, and the Balkanik International Music and Culture Festival, with an over 28,000-strong audience in the four previous editions.
