The lack of communication and scarce information of the public can transform a good government measure into a failure, as was the case with the electronic health card, Alina Gorghiu, National Liber Party (PNL) co-chair, said on Friday.
“The lack of communication and the scarce information of the public can turn a good government provision into a failure. A recent example is the electronic health card, which was supposed to become months ago the only instrument for the reimbursement of medical costs. Unfortunately, this is the sixth time we postpone the effective implementation of the project, insufficiently promoted and explained to citizens,” Gorghiu said on Facebook.
The politician added that starting this week Romanians have a source of information regarding the medical services in Romania as well as their rights as patients, namely the campaign Patients’ Rights, initiated by Gorghiu’s fellow Liberal colleague Cristian Busoi, which will offer an online platform and a toll-free phone number, 0800 080 444.
“Regarding the health card, we can only hope that the government will pass the examination in autumn, on September 1, when it announced that the project will become truly functional,” Alina Gorghiu stated.
