Journalist Ovidiu Marincea appointed advisor to SRI Director

Journalist Ovidiu Marincea was appointed on Monday advisor to the Director of the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI), Eduard Hellvig.

According to a statement published on the website of the intelligence service, the 36-year-old journalist, who has over 10 years of experience in the written and online press and television, will coordinate the public communication of SRI.

“His presence at the Romanian Intelligence Service will represent an advantage in the process of making the institution more transparent and open towards citizens. It is necessary that SRI strengthen also in terms of the communication process, that is why I am glad that he joined us and I am certain that together we will take important steps towards the making the Service’s public communication more professional”, SRI director Eduard Hellvig stated, according to the press release.

According to the above-mentioned source, Ovidiu Marincea says he campaigned for “communicating and opening all state institutions towards the public.” “I believe that the true challenge for any professional is to make a secret service become transparent. I am honored to work in one of the most respected institutions of the Romanian state”, the journalist stated.
