Prosecutors detain female drug trafficker, seize 1 kilo of heroin worth 55,000 euro

Prosecutors of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) on Tuesday detained a woman for trafficking high-risk drugs, after she was caught red-handed while selling about 500 grams of heroin for 11,000 euro, and searches at her home uncovered yet another two packs with the same drug, weighing a combined 1 kilo, worth 55,000 euro on the market.
According to a DIICOT release to Agerpres, the defendant will be referred to the Bucharest Tribunal with the proposal to be put under a 30-day preventive arrest for recurrently dealing high-risk drugs.
The cited source says a sting operation was mounted to catch the suspect, who was tracked after she provided DIICOT decoys about 500 grams of heroin for 11,000 euro.
“A home search was conducted at an address in Bucharest Sector 2 under a search warrant, and another two packs weighing 1 kilo, with a powdery substance that proved to be heroin worth 55,000 euro, were found on the occasion. The investigation was extended over another suspect for similar activities of dealing high-risk drugs,” the release said.
The action was carried out in cooperation with police of the Bucharest Brigade against Organised Crime and the Ilfov Service for the Combat of Organised Crime; the Special Operations Directorate of the Romanian Police General Inspectorate offered assistance to the prosecutors.
