Triathlon Challenge Mamaia 2015 international sport event to carry out 7th edition on Sept.4-6

Triathlon Challenge Mamaia 2015 international competition, the greatest such event in Eastern Europe and the Balkans will carry out its 7th edition in the Black Sea resort of Mamaia over Sept.Triathlon-Challenge-2015-Slides-688x350-6 4 – 6.
The event organizers announced in a press release on Tuesday that included in the sport competitions will be the European Triathlon Premium Cup under the licence of the International Triathlon Union (ITU) and the Romanian Triathlon Series Grand Final, one of the three premium events taking place in Europe on an annual basis. This year, the organizers decided to conduct two such premium competitions, in Mamaia and Holten, the Netherlands respectively.
Attending Mamaia international event will be the best-known triathlon athletes in Europe as well as Romanian athletes, who will compete for 400 points (for the premium cup) to count for the specialist European rankings.
The winners will be rewarded by money prizes, the values of which have increased as compared to last year.
“The money prizes have increased significantly from last year, from 12,500 euros (for a normal cup) to 25,000 euros (for an Olympic trial). Thus, both the prizes for amateurs and for Olympic athletes go as high as 31,000 euros, which is the largest prize fund in Eastern Europe”, the organizers explained.
Triathlon-Challenge-2015-Slides-688x350-2The professional and amateur athletes can still register at one of the five trials made available by the organizers as follows: SuperSprint – 400 m swimming + 10 km bike + 2.5 km run; Sprint – 750 m swim + 20 km bike + 5 km run and the Olympic trial – 1500 m swim + 40 km bike + 10 km run (which are part of the team trials) and Sprint Relay – 750 m swim + 20 km bike + 5 km run and Olympic Relay – 1500 m swim + 40 km bike + 10 km run (being part of the team trials).
Children aged between 9 and 12 can take part in Aquathlon – 200 m swim, 1.25 km run or in Duathlon – 1.25 km run, 5 km bike and 1.25 km run. For supporters (family, friends, colleagues) there is the Beach Run, a 4-km cross.
As regards the participants who have already registered in the contest, 30 percent are at their first triathlon, and 70 percent of them are aged between 20 and 50; the competitors’ age ranges from 9 to 68.
