Labour Ministry pays 2.22 bn lei for social benefits in Q1

The Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Protection and Elderly paid over 2.225 billion lei in Q1 for social assistance benefits, according to the statistics released by the ministry.

Most of the resources managed by the said ministry for these social assistance benefits were directed, in the first three months, to state child’s allowance: 30.1pct, which benefited 3,728,938 children.

Social assistance benefits for people with disabilities accounted for 28pct of total social assistance benefits, with the number of beneficiaries having stood at 704,000.

According to the Labour Ministry, social assistance benefits received in Q1 by 199.500 million lei more, which means a 9.8pct increase.
