Cincinnati tournament: Halep wins to Jelena Jankovic, becomes WTA No. 2

Romanian tennis player Simona Halep has qualified in the final of the USD 2,400,490 Cincinnati Premier tournament after beating in two short sets, 6-1, 6-2, in only one hour and 8 minutes, the Serbian Jelena Jankovic.

In the final, Simona Halep is to meet the main seed, Serena Williams.

This success has brought our tennis player several bonuses: she will be No. 2 WTA, starting with Monday, due to the points she has got in this tournament – 585, at the same time securing a USD 240,500 cheque, in her attempt to top to the USD 495,000 and 900 WTA points that will go to the winner, Agerpres informs.
