President Klaus Iohannis meets Deputy PM Gabriel Oprea on the refugee crisis

President Klaus Ioahnnis met Deputy Prime Minister Gabriel Oprea (photo) non Wednesday at the Presidential Palace, against the backdrop of new Fiscal Code talks scheduled on Thursday.
According to political sources, Gabriel Oprea arrived at the Presidential Palace around 2 p.m., shortly after the Government meeting ended.
Their meeting lasted approximately 20 minutes. The meeting took place in the context in which the leaders of parliamentary parties will discuss once again, on Thursday, the President’s request to re-examine the Fiscal Code.
According to Antena 3, the two allegedly talked about the refugee crisis.
Deputy Prime Minister Gabriel Oprea has convened the National Emergency Situations Committee for a meeting on Thursday, at 3 p.m.

Parliament’s Foreign Relations Commissions and the Schengen Commission will talk about the refugee crisis with the Foreign and Interior Ministers on September 8, in order to establish Parliament’s point of view, Laszlo Borbely and Petru Filip, the chairmen of the two parliamentary commissions, announced today.
The talks within the commissions will take place against the backdrop in which the refugee crisis is growing and the European Union seems to be overwhelmed by the situation. In the absence of a single European Union policy, member states have adopted their own measures, many of them being contested by human rights and refugee protection organizations.
