Last year, Chitu made it to the final of the 2014 World Judo Championships in Chelyabinsk, Russia, but lost to Kosovo’s Majlinda Kelmendi. Chitu was granted direct access to the second round, where she defeated by ippon Tunisia’s Hela Ayari.
