Journalist Laura Chiriac, state adviser to the Prime Minister

Prime Minister Victor Ponta has signed a decision appointing Laura Corina Basoc (Chiriac) state adviser to his office in charge with social policies, the Government announced in a press statement on Wednesday.

According to the Government, Chiriac has a wide experience wiht the mass media in Romania, having worked with Radio France International, AFP, Realitatea TV and Romania TV. As a journalist, Chiriac has always paid special attention to people’s day-to-day problems, healthcare services and education.

“I see this appointment as an honour and an opportunity to do something for the society in which we live. I have always brought to the public attention things that don’t work as they should, and now I have decided to get actively and directly involved in changing them,” Chiriac is quoted as saying in the statement.
