Sandra Pralong appointed state councilor at Presidential Administration

President Klaus Iohannis has appointed Sandra Pralong state councilor in the Presidential Administration’s Department for the relations with Romanians abroad.

According a release of the Presidential Administration, Sandra-Marylin-Andreea Pralong was appointed starting with September 1.

Pralong is a writer, political scientist and civic activist. She emigrated from Romania during the communist regime and returned after the 1989 revolution, to found the Romanian branch of the George Soros Open Society Foundation.

Pralong was an adviser to President Emil Constantinescu (1998 – 2000). In 2012, she ran for the Senate on behalf of the Christian Democrat National Peasant Party (PNTCD).
