Health card becomes mandatory

From September 1 only medical emergencies will be treated in the absence of health cards, since the latter have become mandatory for any medical check-ups. The patients who do not present their cards will have to pay for any medical service.
Those who refuse the cards on religious grounds can obtain certificates, but only after they file requests explaining the reasons for their refusal. The health insurance certificates are available for three months after their issuance.
The card represents the key with which the doctor can access the electronic health record of the person requesting medical services.
