Mircea Cosea joins UNPR

Economist Mircea Cosea, former member of parties such as PDSR, ApR, PNL and PER, joined the National Union for the Progress of Romania (UNPR) on Monday, a UNPR communiqué shows.
“The reputed economics professor Mircea Cosea has joined UNPR. Mircea Cosea will coordinate the party’s economic strategy alongside fellow economists from the party’s departments,” the UNPR communiqué reads, being quoted by Agerpres.
Mircea Cosea was previously a member of the Romanian Ecologist Party (PER), a party whose honorary president he was until he resigned after the party asked President Klaus Iohannis to divorce his wife because she allegedly asked for and obtained the permit to cut down 42 trees on the Presidential estate located in the Neptun seaside resort, Romania TV informs.
