Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra – sensation of ‘George Enescu’ Festival at Sala Palatului tonight

The Philharmonic Orchestra of Berlin, the icing on the cake of the ‘George Enescu’ Festival 2015, will be in concert on 3 September, from 20h, on the stage of Sala Palatului in Bucharest. The Berlin orchestra, one of the world’s best philharmonics, conducted by Sir Simon Rattle, will open the programme with ‘Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge’, Op. 10 by Benjamin Britten, for strings orchestra, dedicated by the author to his composition professor. The second part is reserved for Symphony no. 4 in C minor by Dmitri Shostakovich, written in the period when the composer was being attacked by communist officials.
At 17hours, at the Romanian Athenaeum, is scheduled a concert by the ‘George Enescu’ Orchestra conducted by Peter Ruzicka. In the programme:: Enescu/Bentoiu –
Symphony No. 4, Peter Ruzicka – „Clouds“ for string quartet and orchestra (2013), Béla Bartók – ‘Kossuth’ – poem for orchestra.
