Cristi Minculescu and Iris, “Together Again” on October 15, at Polyvalent Hall

One of the most long awaited music events of autumn, especially by nostalgic rockers who grew up listening to the music of the band Iris is the special concert in Bucharest on October 15, at Polyvalent Hall. On this occasion, the best known rock vocalist of Romania, Cristi Minculescu, will perform once again with Iris after a separation that has surprised and also saddened everyone, considering that they have been performing together for 32 years. Nonetheless, the separation was inevitable, as the singer was moving to Germany.
“I cannot wait to greet each and everyone of you during the national tour suggested to us by Sublime and we hope that their idea would meet your wishes. You wanted it and now you can see us and listen to “Together Again”! It is highly rewarding for me to sing again as part of a band of outstanding professionals such as Nelu Dumitrescu, Valter Popa, Boro and Relu Marin, to carry along the name of Iris, like a flame that can only be fueled by you! We all understand this tour as a new beginning and we assure you that we will give you our best, older and newer songs, as well as our gratitude, because we would have been unable to go on without you! Thank you for the fact that you will come to our concert”, Cristi Minculescu declared.
The band Iris appeared in 1976 and their initial lineup included Nutu Olteanu (guitar, vocals), Emil Lechinteanu (bass guitar) and Nelu Dumitrescu (drums). Throughout their career the lineup of the band underwent several changes and some of the members rose to fame on their own, such as Florin Ochescu, Dan Bitman and Sorin Chifiriuc. About fifteen vocalists and instrument players have followed one another at the “Iris Rock School”, as the band was nicknamed.
The concert of October 15, at 7 pm, is part of a tour scheduled in 14 Romanian cities, as well as in Kishinev.
