101 new graduates have been hired by EY Romania in September 2015, the biggest number recruited by a company in a single year so far and 20 per cent higher year-on-year. The EY team now totals 655 professionals for the first time. Approximately 60 per cent of the new employees will join the Financial Audit department, while the rest will join the Fiscal and Legal Assistance, Transaction Assistance and Business Assistance departments.
Over 1,600 students from Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iasi, Timisoara and Oradea applied for an EY position in spring. This year’s recruitment campaign has been one of the most complex handled by the company in Romania and has included online applications, video interviews, perseverance evaluation tests, interviews with EY managers and two selection competitions – EY Tax Academy and EY Mega Days.
By recruiting some of the most talented and highly motivated youths from among this year’s graduates, youths for whom EY will be the first job experience, the company assumes the responsibility of guiding them in their careers and of offering them professional development opportunities.
According to Catalyst and Trendence surveys published at the end of July, EY Romania is at this moment the most wanted employer in the consultancy domain in Romania and the most sought-after employer within the Big4. Likewise, EY tops the preference rankings of youths with potential and of students enrolled in Masters programmes, being perceived as the company with the most attractive and innovative training programme. Overall, EY Romania is 7th in the top 10 rankings of companies for which Romanian youths want to work, according to Trendence.
