Former Finance Minister Ioana Petrescu has been appointed Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB).
Petrescu joined the EIB after Premier Victor Ponta promoted her as Romania’s representative within the EIB Board, where she replaced Mihai Tanasescu, former Finance Minister in the Nastase Government, sources close to the Romanian Government inform. Tanasescu was suspended after the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) announced the start of a criminal probe against him in the Microsoft Case.
