BRD’s Mobile Banking service surpasses 160,000 clients

MyBRD Mobile, BRD’s mobile banking service launched in November 2013, has 160,000 users and is one of the top three financial applications with the highest number of downloads from iOS, Android and Windows Mobile stores, with over 195,000 downloads registered so far, according to a communiqué issued by BRD Groupe Societe Generale.

The operations ordered most frequently by MyBRD Mobile users are internal payments (between own accounts), followed by the payment of utility bills. An active BRD user accesses the mobile banking service 16 times a month on average, the monthly average of transactions standing at 4 transactions per client and the usage rate at 35 per cent. Those who access the service the most are the users of smartphones based on the iOS operating system, followed by those based on Windows and Android operating systems, the bank’s statistics show.

MyBRD Mobile offers clients a method of transfer that is unique on the Romanian banking market, direct transfer to a mobile phone. The beneficiary of the payment can collect the money from any BRD agency, even without having a bank account, being even able to pay utility bills by scanning the barcode, and to make transfers to other MyBRD Mobile users through QR codes, the bank’s communiqué shows.
