Liberal leader Gorghiu says party Senate motion triggers alarm, infrastructure should be development driver
Co-chairperson of the National Liberal Party Alina Gorghiu said on Tuesday that with the simple motion on the transport infrastructure tabled with the Senate, the Liberals trigger alarm on the projects in the field implemented with European funds.
“PNL’s opposition action in the Senate starts with a major, if not downright not painful theme for Romania: transport infrastructure. PNL lodged today a simple motion on the situation in this area. (…) PNL’s motion triggers alarm: with an absent and heedless minister, there is no chance that infrastructure projects and the absorption of European funds are taken out of inertness,” Gorghiu wrote on Tuesday on Facebook.
She said that infrastructure should be “an engine of economic development, but under the Social Democrat Party (PSD) rule it is constantly sabotaged by the lack of interest of the successive ministers who just hand over the relay of consecutive flops.”
