Interior Ministry holds exercise at border with Serbia to test response capability to migrant flow dynamics

An exercise that tests the operational response capability of the Romanian authorities to a situation similar to the current one in countries neighbouring Romania in terms of migrant flow dynamics is going on in the western county of Timis, the Interior Ministry (MAI) reports o0n its website.

In a press statement released on Saturday, MAI says the drill was ordered by Interior Minister Gabriel Oprea.

“In the application of the decisions of the National Emergency Committee headed by Deputy Prime Minister Gabriel Oprea over the past two weeks, the Romanian authorities have increased security measures at the border between Romania and Serbia by deploying additional forces and logistics,’ says the statement.

The exercise is said to be a continuation of preventive, pro-active measures taken by the relevant organisations operating as the National Emergency Committee.
