Bookfest Cluj-Napoca, four days of book celebration

The fourth edition of Bookfest Book Salon was announced in Cluj-Napoca, during September 24 – 27, at the “Casino” Urban Culture Centre in the “Simion Barnutiu” Central Park.
Visitors are awaited with an offer of approximately 10,000 volumes at the best prices and in a variety of genres, provided by some of the greatest publishing houses in the country.
During the four days of the event, fans of literature will have the opportunity to discover the latest offers by the greatest publishing houses in the countrz and may also meet consecrated authors besides their latest editorial appearances. In premiere, Bookfest will host puppet shows and physics experiments, as part of the European Researchers’ Night.
The editorial events will take place on Saturday, September 29, when nutritionist and physician Mihaela Bilic and Curtea Veche Publishing House will launch their latest volume entitled “Health Is Tasty: A Guide to Weight Loss”. The book provides an original way of getting rid of dieting and kilogram measuring obsessions: psycho-nutrition, a balanced way to handle our own life and eating habits.
On the same day, Humanitas Publishing House will launch the book “Singing throat: Guardian Angel and Temptation”, recently published, written by Grigore Lese, and the passionate seeker of folklore treasures will meet the audience in Cluj to delight his admirers.
Young researcher Alexandru Muraru will introduce his book “How Does Monachy Survive in a Republic?”, released as well by Curtea Veche Publishing, a book analyzing the transition that occurred after 1989 from the perspective of monarchy, with an objective view that gives the viewer an opportunity to decide whether the question in the title is valid and to what extent it applies in the present.
The readers will also have the opportunity to meet writer Radu Paraschivescu, who presents the volume: „We Do Not Think, We Speak. New Collection of Romanian Bloomers”, a bestseller of Bookfest in June 2015. Also, the author will read in premiere an excerpt from a new book, due to be released at Humanitas Publishing House.
Students and professors of the Physics Section of the „Babes-Bolyai” University will visit Bookfest on September 25, in order to present viewers of all ages some of the most spectacular physics experiments in order to celebrate the Night of European Researchers, an event dedicated to the popularization of science and learning in an increasingly pleasant way.
Besides numerous book at cut prices destined to them, children have another reason to feel happy at the fourth edition of the Bookfest Cluj Napoca Book Salon; free shows performed by Puck Puppet Theatre, both in Romanian and Hungarian.
The access of the audience will be free at all events of Bookfest. The daily visiting hours will be 10 AM – 8 PM.
