Autogyro crashes in Odorheiu Secuiesc area, pilot dies

An autogyro crashed on Saturday morning at the exit from Odorheiu Secuiesc to Lupeni and the pilot, aged 39, died, head of Harghita Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU) Operation Centre Colonel Ovidiu Dudu told Agerpres.

Harghita County Prefect Adrian Jean Andrei told AGERPRES that the accident occurred close the tree line, near Szejke plateau, in the vicinity of Odorheiu Secuiesc Municipality.

After the impact with the ground, the autogyro caught fire and the pilot died charred.

The fire was extinguished by the Odorheiu Secuiesc ISU Detachment.

The intervention teams are on site and the first investigations are being carried out to establish the circumstances of the accident.
