Suspended mayor of Bucharest Sorin Oprescu, currently on pre-trial detention, on Saturday, around 16,00hrs, was taken to University Emergency Hospital Bucharest for medical investigations, by a Capital Police car, sources told Agerpres.
Sorin Oprescu’s lawyer, Alexandru Chiciu, confirmed the approval of the transfer to the University Hospital for medical investigations.
Ombudsman Victor Ciorbea on Friday recommended that former Bucharest mayor Sorin Oprescu be urgently admitted to a cardiology medical unit having specialist equipment that should allow examining the patient’s health according to the recommendations of the doctor from St Ioan Hospital, given that his state of health has worsened and taking into consideration the pathological context at the time of the visit paid by an Ombudsman team.
