The magnificent celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Chinese nation’s triumph in the war of resistance against Japan’s aggression, on September 3, a celebration laden with a lot of significant messages, has demonstrated in abundance the inner logic of the people’s revolution which – in its turn – triumphed on 1 October 1949 through the proclamation of the People’s Republic of China and the establishment of people’s power. The people’s revolution, guided by the thought of Chairman Mao Zedong, who outlined the aspirations of the Chinese nation in his famous “The Chinese Revolution and the Chinese Communist Party” and related himself to a world made up of three worlds – namely a multipolar world – as revealed in his reputed “The Three Worlds,” a political thought updated by the following generations of CCP leaders, incorporates the well-deserved victory against Japanese aggressors, the start of the liberation from the servitudes of semi-colonialism and the ending of the series of humiliations suffered throughout a century by the Chinese nation, as well as the categorical refusal, implemented with determination and skill, to accept any diminishing of sovereignty and national dignity, as well as the determined commitment to complete the national programme of emerging from the state of semi-feudalism and of amply and profoundly developing the whole country in line with superior contemporary standards; the unity of the Chinese nation was kept in mind constantly and firmly.
Today’s China is no longer the country once dubbed the sick man of Asia, a country on which demeaning unequal treaties were brutally imposed. Today’s China, the People’s Republic of China, which will soon mark 66 years of existence, rises in the East like the brilliant sun, like Chairman Mao Zedong used to put it. Today’s China has already become, in line with the goals of the people’s revolution, the second economic power of the world, in a multipolar and diverse world, an influential financial power in the world economy, a redoubtable military power capable to protect its citizens, territory and interests and, not less significant, also a convincing factor that pleads for peace and understanding, security and development to the benefit of all nations of the world.
May the celebration of the centenary of the jubilee events in 2021 and 2049 mark in a festive manner the fulfilment of the Chinese dream in a blooming, rich and powerful nation, in a world of harmony – that of the rebirth of the great zhonghua nation.
Romania can take advantage of the tradition of relationships of friendship and collaboration between the two peoples – which were once among the exemplary relations in international life – both in order to achieve its national development programmes but also in order to attain the goals of peace and development, understanding and cooperation in the world. Just like in the past, the Parties’ initiatives are determinant and we are waiting, just like in the past, for the Parties to open a new stage in the exemplary evolution of relations between Romania and China.
May the Romanian-Chinese solidarity bring new benefits to the Romanian and Chinese nations, contribute to the world order the peoples of the world aspire to.
