I want to send my sincere congratulations to the Korean people on the occasion of the National Foundation Day. The past quarter of a century has been a period of continuous development and economic progress for our nations, an interval during which the connections of mutual interests have been strengthened by bonds of trust and friendship.
I am pleased to say that the Republic of Korea is one of Romania’s important partners in the world and on the Asian Continent. The rapid expanse of the economic ties between our two countries, as well as the existing Strategic Partnership, which lays the foundations for the continuous development of the relations between our two countries, are landmarks of a bond meant to endure.
Our countries have made great strides in the past decades towards economic development and towards democracy. The achievements of our past relationship are definitely a sign of promise for the future to come.
We live in a global environment increasingly marked by uncertainty and by the proliferation of numerous threats; an environment where having a trusted partner is a precious commodity. I am pleased to say that for Romania the Republic of Korea has become one such partner and I can only hope that the coming years will witness a strong relationship between our two countries, between our two societies.
On this occasion, I want to ensure the people of the Republic of Korea of my deepest respect and admiration and to bring forward this message of friendship and cooperation.
