Anim’est International Animation Film Festival: U.S. Embassy celebrates 20 years since ‘Toy Story’

US Ambassador Hans Klemm will celebrate on Saturday, 10 October, 20 years since the first ‘Toy Story’ animation movie together with children from deprived communities and Albert Lozano, representative of the Pixar animation studios that made the movie. The event happens in the framework of the 10th edition of the Anim’est International Animation Film Festival.
The screening will be attended by children included in various educational programmes of who are amongst the clients of the ‘Ana and the Children’ NGO and the Policy Centre for Roma and Minorities Foundation.
‘The story of Buzz Lightyear, one of the characters of this appreciated animation, is a crucial lesson for the youth, as they can understand from it the importance of diversity and inclusion in the community of those who are deemed different’, the Embassy notes in a release.
The Embassy of the USA has financed this year the participation of Albert Lozano and Mark Shapiro, Head of Entertainment Brand Marketing, LAIKA Studios, in the Anim’est festival, taking place from 2 to 11 October in Bucharest.
